"Eco system restoration" is theme for southern Railway

 

World Environment Day is celebrated once a year on 5th June every year by the United Nations in order to save the environment, this program is done in 143 countries of the world, it is organized by the head of government of each country, all the offices, NGO offices, heads of the general public. Celebrated in its own way whose main objective is to promote to keep the environment green. You reading this news on Hindi news.

In this connection, at Ponmalai Railway Station of Tiruchirappalli Division of Southern Railway, Station Manager Shri P Sesuraj celebrated by planting a tree. On this occasion all the station superintendent points man train clerk, signal maintainer were present. All these people took a pledge to save the environment.

This pledge were-

World Environment Day Pledge

“On this Day, / I solemnly affirm that / I will rededicate to the

cause of protection of environment / and will do my best to

observe rules, / regulations and procedures / and develop

attitudes and habits / conducive for achieving these objectives.

I fully realise that / use and disposal of non-Eco friendly

materials / will result in / general degradation of environment.

I will use Eco-friendly products. / I will not use disposable

Plastic products / like cups, small covers or carry bags. / I will

follow reuse culture. / I will use public transport / as far as

possible. / I will meet vehicle emission standards. / I will avoid

use of air horns. / I will segregate / waste generated at home. /

I will support community based waste management. /

I will do everything possible / for the protection of environment

/ in the interest of self, my family, my community / and the nation at large.

As per Railway Board's instructions under reference, World Environment Day

is observed in Tiruchchirappalli Division on 05.06.2021.

The theme for the current year is "Eco-system restoration" with special focus

on enhancing the relationship with nature. This year also mark the launch of the UN

Decade on Eco-system restoration 2021-2030.

The following activities duly following the COVID -19 protocols may be carried

out during World Environment Day -2021.
