According to Rajamanikam Palani, zonal president of All India Station Master Association of Southern Railway, the station master has been fighting for his demands for a long time. Their major demands include filling up of vacant posts of station master, re-introducing the closed night duty allowance, giving stress allowance, cadre restructuring etc.
He said that the stress of the station masters has been beyond tolerable levels. The demand for payment of Security and Stress Allowance to Station Masters is justified and should be accepted at the earliest.
In a statement issued by the All India Station Master Association, it has been said that on 31 May 2022, about 35000 station masters can go on leave. All India Station Master is trying to get its demand accepted since October 2020 but till now these demands of Station Master have not been considered in the same way.
AISMA Divisional President, Tiruchirappalli Railway Division, K Marimuthu (Dy SMR/GOC) said that we have been demanding our demand in a peaceful manner. AISMA has already sent its list of demands to the Chairman of the Railway Board.
Let us tell you that the main reason for the station masters all over India to go on mass leave for one day is to get the Night Duty Allowance re-issued which has been discontinued for those with basic pay of 43600/-.
