The Guwahati-Bikaner Express (15633) derailed at Mainaguri in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal at around 5 pm. Five passengers have died in this accident. At the same time, around 50 people have been injured. Relief and rescue operations are being carried out on the spot. Several ambulances have taken the injured to the hospital on the spot. People are being pulled out using gas cutters.

पश्चिम बंगाल के जलपाईगुड़ी जिले में गुरुवार को बीकानेर-गुवाहाटी एक्सप्रेस (15633) के 12 डिब्बे पटरी से उतर गए, जिसमें पांच लोगों की मौत हो गई. रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने कहा कि वह व्यक्तिगत रूप से स्थिति की निगरानी कर रहे हैं और पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी को बचाव कार्यों से अवगत कराया है। मृतकों के परिजनों को 5 लाख रुपये, गंभीर रूप से घायलों को 1 लाख रुपये और साधारण रूप से घायलों को 25,000 रुपये की अनुग्रह राशि देने की घोषणा की गई है। राजस्थान के बीकानेर से शुरू हुई ट्रेन बिहार के पटना होते हुए असम के गुवाहाटी जा रही थी, तभी गुरुवार शाम करीब 5.15 बजे जलपाईगुड़ी के मयनागुड़ी के पास यह हादसा हो गया.

Northeastern Frontier Railway CPRO Guneet Kaur said that efforts are on to take the non-affected passengers to Guwahati in a separate train.
