AISMA Leader taken VRS after 35 years Completed Service in indian Railway

Today senior AISMA leader and Station superintendent Sri Rajamanickam Ravikumar Taken Voluntary retirement from Indian Railways.

He is a person rich in efficient leadership and exceptional talent, under his leadership I have also got a chance to work for almost a year. When Ravi sir and I (P.K.Mishra) were on duty together while working at Tiruchirapalli Junction, I would have found my job very easy. He was very fearless, fair and simply used to solve every obstacle on duty with peacefully. you are reading this news on www.operafast.com .

Let me now tell about them in their own words.......

On the final examination day of my PG, my roll number 5857 appeared in a corner of the newspaper under RRB examination results. Then it took six months to be called for interview and another six months to get appointment order. 8/7/86.

The journey that commenced on that day completes today 18/1/22 after 35 years and 6 months.

Still remember that misty winter January morning, Sikkal station and my first SM Mr C. Ramanathan.

Same January... bidding adieu...

MV to Thillaivilagam, NCR to Ammapet as LRSM daily hanging on control phone to get next day movement from OT cell ( TI MPP)..

Partially interlocking, APBQ key interlocking, Rudimentary interlocking, Route key - Home key interlocking.....

Steam engines.. double head locos, Tender foremost, Tender foremost running with headlight, left side/ right side injector wasting water, clinker formation, pulling out fire, vaccum brake system, tablet token, ball token, pouch, exchanging token to run through train, lighting torch at the right time for exchanging token in nights, token missing.... Token lost... Kerosene lit signals and point indicators, card tickets, dating machine, fixed value paper tickets, blank paper tickets... Local.. foreign..... All obsolete terms now.

Stood as witness in some developments... Direct reception facility to TVR yard scissors cross over points, phased out steam locos, raise and fall of YDM 2 locos, project Unigauge and disappearance of MG tracks, provision of separate block and panel operators at MV cabin, introduction of air brake system, intensive roster for VM and TPJ cabins, electrification, evolution of interlocking to EI/ VDU, digitalisation of train movements and timings....

Whatever be the section, whatever be the station, whatever be the technology one thing remained static and the bond between us continued till the last. That's AISMA.... where I learned everything that helped me to complete my service >with pride.. without bowing my head before anybody.

Finally it's time to vacate a mind filled with junk information collected through 35 years, leaving the space for a young fresh mind and body to handle the task effectively.

All the best young generation. Bye. Rajamanickam Ravikumar SS/TPJ
