Signal clearing Rule of Railway correction 1/19

GRS correction memo no.1/ 2019 
1. Substitute the following for GR 1.01

GR 1.01 short title and commencement:-
(i) These rules may be called the Indian railway (open line) general amendment rules 2018.
(ii) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the official gazette.

2. Substitute the following for GR 1.02 (5)(i)
SR 1.02 (5) (i) The principal chief operations manager is the authorised officer for the southern Railway.

3. Substitute the following for GR 1.02 (31)
GR 1.02 (31) "intermediate block post" means a class 'C' station on a single line or a  double line or multiple line remotely controlled from the block station in rear.

4. Substitute the following for 1.02(32)
 GR 1.02 (32) "intermediate block signalling" means an arrangement of signalling on single line or double line or multiple line in which is long blocks section is split into two portion each constituting a separate block section by providing an intermediate Block post.

5.  Substitute the following for GR 3.40(1)
" GR 3.40 conditions for taking "off" home signal:-
 (i) when train is approaching a home signal otherwise then at terminal station, the signal shall not be taken off until the train has first been brought to be stand outside it, unless-
 (a) on a double line the line is clear for an adequate distance beyond the starter, or
(b) on a single line, the line is clear for an adequate distance beyond the trailing point, or for an adequate distance beyond the place at which the train age required to come to a stand".

6.  Substitute the following for GR 3.42
GR 3.42 conditions for taking "off" last stop signal or intermediate Block stop signal:-
  (1) On double line - the last stop signal or intermediate stop signal shall not be taken "off" for a train unless Line clear has been obtained from the block station in advance.
  (2) On single line-
  (a)the last stop signal shall not be taken "off" for train unless line clear has been obtained from the block station in advance.
  (b) for intermediate block signalling-
 (i) first, the direction of traffic Shall be established and the line clear shall be obtained from the block station in advance as per the direction of traffic.
 (ii) only after establishing the direction of traffic the train movement in the 'Station controlled intermediate block section' shall be permitted, and
 (iii)the intermediate Block stop signal not be taken 'off' unless the line has been obtained from block station in advance and direction of traffic is established.
7. Insert the following as SR 3.69 (x) (1) and (2) and renumber the existing SR 3.69 (x) (1) 3.69 (x)(3)
SR 3.69 (x)(2) The procedure for form authorizing the Loco pilot to fast the reception stop signal at "On" is not applicable for the first train and the first train shall be received by taking of the calling on signal where provided or by issuing a written memo T/369(1) at station in rear, or by issuing a written memo T/369-(3b) at the foot of the defective signal.
 SR 3.69 (x) (2) The second and subsequent train may be received on signal post telephone by adopting the following procedure.
8. Substitute the following for SR 4.65 (iii), SR 5.06(i)(c), SR 9.14(ii), SR 14.04 (i),  SR 15.22(ii) (b) (1) & SR 15.22(ii):-
The sentence "Zonal Railway Training institute" appears in the above Subsidiary Rules to be changed as "Multi Discriplinary Zonal Training institute".
 This has the approval of the authorised officer.

ROAD LEARNING of LOCO PILOT

Correction memo no 01/2018 GRS (page no 101 new book)
1. Substitute the following for SR 3.78 (I)
(A) Every new loco pilot /All should be given three trip (UP and DN separately) for learning road, out of which one must night to to familiarise himself with the section on which he is roasted for duty. On ghat section and automatic section minimum 6 trips of road learning shall be provided in up & down direction. If any third line available in section , at least one trip shall be provided.
प्रत्येक लाइन के अप और डाउन में तीन तीन बार रोड ट्रेनिंग जिसमे एक नाईट ट्रेनिंग शामिल हो, अगर कोई तीसरी लाइन हो तो उसका भी कम से कम एक बार रोड ट्रेनिंग दिया जाना चाहिए ! घाट और ऑटोमैटिक सेक्शन में 6 बार दोनों दिशा में ट्रेनिंग अनिवार्य रूप से देना चाहिए !
(B) on promotion to or officiating as loco pilot (goods) road learning as prescribed if SR 3.78 (I) has to be provided to LO to understand dynamics.


प्रमोशन होने पर भी रोड के बारे में जानकारी के लिए रोड लर्निंग जरुरी देना चाहिए
(C) if Lp/Alp has not operated on a section for over three months he should be give Road learning as below -
(i) gap between 3 to 6 month LR one trip , in ghat and automatic section three trip
(ii) gap b/w 6 months to 2 years - two trip and ghat and automatic section should be given Three trips.
(iii) over 2 years - Three trip and ghat & automatic section six trips.
(D) any additional trips necessary should be provided with the approval of the controlling branch officer of the division.
कोई अतिरिक्त ट्रिप की ट्रेनिंग जरुरी हो तो डिवीज़न के ब्रांच कंट्रोलिंग अफसर की अनुमति लेनी होगी !
(E) The scale of trips provided as above would apply to all systems of working.
(F) A register should be maintained at the crew booking points. ALP/LP should record in the register 15 days in advance that he is lapsing road learning in section. A base depot should keep a record of the date of last trip performed by LP/ALP on different sections and update it every first of month. On the basis of these records, depot in charge should book the Loco pilot assistant loco pilot for road learning on a section where it is required.
(G) The record of road learning may also be kept in Crew management system.
